The Challenge
Toys R Us set out to elevate their in-store experience with Geoffrey’s Café—a whimsical dessert spot made for kids. But the biggest hurdle wasn’t the food—it was mobility. Ice cream and waffles don’t exactly scream “aisle-friendly.” In a fast-paced retail setting, messy treats meant frustrated parents, sticky fingers, and extra cleanup. They needed packaging that let kids snack and shop.
The Hammont Approach
We ran drop tests, tested materials, and worked through countless prototypes to find a solution tough enough for tiny hands. The result? A full line of heavy-duty, spill-resistant cups and plates—custom-printed with Geoffrey the Giraffe and built for movement. No drips, no fuss, no mess. Just kid-proof packaging that matched the fun of the café.
The Outcome
The difference was immediate. Cleanup times dropped. Staff could focus on service, not spills. And most impressively, customers took the packaging with them—spreading brand visibility across the mall.
Geoffrey’s Café became a destination in itself. Kids came for the treats and stayed for the toys, with Hammont’s packaging doing double duty as both a solution and a sales driver.
Those cups? A lead magnet in disguise.
