Mike’s Chicken, known for its cult-favorite crunch and tagline “It’s Crunch Time,” was ready to scale—but the path forward meant mastering delivery. With COVID driving a surge in takeout and UberEATS as the only option, they needed packaging that could go the distance. Regular boxes couldn’t preserve their signature crispness—and that would cost them everything.
The Hammont Approach
We partnered with Mike’s to engineer a completely custom, vented delivery box. Our design team explored airflow patterns and moisture control to create a structure that kept every bite hot, crispy, and camera-ready. It wasn’t just packaging—it was a delivery-first strategy that protected their product and elevated the experience.
The Outcome
Mike’s made the leap—and nailed it. Their fried chicken stayed crisp coast to coast (or at least across their newly expanded delivery zones). With packaging designed to preserve quality in transit, Mike’s was able to deliver to farther areas than ever before—without compromising on crunch. The result? Soaring sales, stronger brand recognition, and a look that matched the flavor.
